CITY OF MESQUITE is Hiring a Warehouse Technician-Automotive Near Mesquite, TX
Salary: $15.00/hr. minimum - $16.63/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications) To provide technical assistance in ordering, receiving, issuing and maintaining the inventory of materials, supplies, tools and equipment for the general and automotive warehouses; to perform responsible record keeping duties in support of the material control function; to serve in the capacity as lead person for the Automotive Warehouse; and to assume the Warehouse Supervisor's duties in this position's absence.
SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Warehouse Supervisor. Responsible for supervision of Warehouse Clerk and other part-time and temporary positions.

Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
Requisition and purchase a variety of parts and supplies; process invoices, claim vouchers, and purchase orders ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained; work with vendors to obtain bid quotes on parts and supplies.
Receive, stock and issue parts, supplies and equipment; tag, sort and locate miscellaneous inventory; assist in moving, cleaning and re-tagging as necessary.
Maintain inventory of supplies, parts, tools and equipment; enter data into inventory records using a PC, adding or deleting items to maintain appropriate balances.
Assist Warehouse Supervisor in compiling data essential for preparing bids.Research and monitor pricing for stock and bid items.
Reconcile missing, incorrect or questionable invoices. Ensure all items are charged correctly. Monitor parts ordered for timely shipment.
Operate appropriate equipment including a forklift, pallet jack and office machines.
Ensure all equipment is functioning properly.Remove and dispose of stock not issued in two years.
Distribute non-stock items received at the warehouse.
Maintain knowledge of bid process, vendors and inventory items at both city warehouses.
Supervise, train and help evaluate Automotive Warehouse Clerks and part-time or temporary personnel.
In absence of Warehouse Supervisor, responsible for maintenance of both city Warehouses and all staff.
EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED. EXPERIENCE Three years of experience in warehousing or similar work. Automotive-warehousing experience is preferred. Type 20 wpm LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid driver's license. WORK SCHEDULE Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM Testing required only if interviewed: Typing 20 wpm and Data Entry
