- Manages the day-to-day operations of the city’s water utility
- Develops and manages the water division's budget
- Provides and implements recommendations to improve and/or optimize water operations
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state drinking water regulations
- Ensures staff is working safely and efficiently
Required Education, Training and Experience
(Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position. Prior work experience and educational requirements listed are typical ways of obtaining the required qualifications. Other equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered, including unpaid work experience on a year-for-year basis.)
- High school diploma or GED; AND
- Specialized training in the operations of water production, treatment, distribution and storage systems
- Five (5) years of experience relating to the operation, construction, repair, and maintenance of water systems i including one year of supervisory or leadership experience; OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver license and acceptable driving history.
- Must obtain OSHA Confined Space and Competent Person Certification, and Traffic control certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Certifications are required within one year of hire:
- State of Oregon Water Distribution III
- Backflow Inspection
- Water Treatment I certification
