Customer Service Billing Specialist

Sanitation Department - City of Newnan

The City of Newnan is seeking 2 Customer Service Billing Specialists for the expanded Sanitation Billing Department. This exciting new position will be the front line of service for residents and business owners providing excellence in customer service, record keeping and communication.

Customer Service Billing Specialist will be responsible for setting up accounts, service changes, processing sanitation bills and payments, revenue collection, preparing and maintaining financial records and reports with focus on excellence in customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Assist customers in person, through phone calls and emails, maintaining a positive, courteous approach.

Set up accounts, service changes in a professional expeditious manner within established guidelines.

Answer moderate to high incoming call volume courteously and professionally.

Manage and answer email inquiries and requests courteously and professionally.

Process and maintain customer data base; collect and record various revenues; monitor and collect delinquent and past due receivable accounts.

Generate call-in work orders for missed stops or special pick-ups, follow up with Sanitation Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Customer Service or related field or extensive experience in accounting, revenue collection, customer service or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to professionally and cooperatively interact with customers, co-workers and leadership team.

Knowledge and understanding of billing transactions and processes and the ability to implement to meet performance targets.

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook

Valid Driver's License

This position is full time (40 hours), non-exempt and eligible for City of Newnan's comprehensive benefit package to include :
