Basic Function

This is a part-time, overtime eligible and AFSCME represented position.

The work involves tree inspections, risk analysis, tree removal and replacement; plan, direct, and administer urban forest operations and services;

supervise contractors; negotiate and administer contracts; develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and assist with management and oversight of projects within urban forests, natural resource areas, and rights-of-way.

Representative Duties

• Bachelor’s degree in urban forestry, Natural Resource Management, Forest Resource Management, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible related experience.
• At least three years of experience specific to grant and volunteer management and management of critical areas, including wetlands and natural habitat restoration.
• A combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the job.

Required Education and Experience

• Valid Washington State Driver's License. A three-year driving abstract must be submitted prior to hire.
• Successful applicants must pass a physical capacity test and a physical examination.

Preferred :

Certified Forester or ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist, preferred.
