City of Norwalk is Hiring a NS Community Health Program Assistant (Part-Time) Near Norwalk, CT

Position Definition: The Community Health Program Assistant assists with the Connecticut Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Grant program, which aims to convene multi-sector partners to plan, implement, and evaluate suicide prevention, intervention, and response in Norwalk.General Duties: Assists with planning, facilitating, and documenting local community partner meetings. Assists with the preparation of grant deliverables, including community resource inventory, workplan progress reports, community prevention and response plans, and other grant reports. Creates outreach materials, including print materials, social media posts, and other online communication. Represents the Health Department at community events and outreach activities to engage with community members, disseminate materials, and obtain feedback. Attends related local, state, and regional meetings. Supervised by: Receives general supervision from the Health Educator. Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all-inclusive of every task and responsibility. Must be able to work flexible hours.This is a grant-funded position and is not guaranteed after August 31, 2025.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Ability to use computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom. Ability to meet deadlines and submit ongoing reports. Ability to keep records in an organized and efficient manner. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with data collection and participant interviews. Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff. Ability to interact with members of the public and establish interpersonal relationships with clients and partners in a variety of settings. Working knowledge of Norwalk community organizations, services, and culture preferred.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Valid Motor Vehicle License required. Hours: Up to 19.5 hours per week. Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.Dept: HealthRate: $25/hour
