A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A GIS ANALYSTJob SummaryThe purpose of this job within the organization is to provide City-wide support for GIS and to analyze and spatially display data from any department to better understand the information at hand.
This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Essential Functions
- Be able to create, read, and interpret maps.
- Use ArcGIS editing tools to create new and maintain current feature datasets.
- Assist with the development and implementation of GIS technology and standards.
- Assist with data gathering, conversion, analysis, manipulation and processing of geospatial data using GIS software.
- Assist with troubleshooting GIS software issues, and technical support.
- Assists GIS Specialist with daily responsibilities.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, geomatics, GIS technology or closely related field.
- Requires one (1) year geographic information system or closely related experience.
- Valid Texas Driver's License
