About This PositionThe Planning and Development Department (PDD) guides the physical development of the city by preserving our historic sites, planning what can be built where, and ensuring the safe construction of buildings and infrastructure. A host of advisory and governing bodies of residents, as well as elected officials, provide oversight as the city grows and needs arise. The process is governed through development and enforcement of city codes and ordinances. The Plumbing/Mechanical Inspections Field Supervisor position manages and directs the Plumbing and Mechanical Inspectors responsible for inspection of plumbing and mechanical systems in all commercial, industrial, and multifamily residential buildings. The Field Supervisor trains, interprets plumbing and mechanical plans, and relates code requirements and the solutions to complex construction problems. The position is the lead technical authority providing advice to city management, builders, owners, and other customers. The Plumbing/Mechanical Inspections Field Supervisor position is a part of the Industrial Plant Program known as the Annual Facilities Program (AFP). The projects are industrial and commercial and require knowledge and experience in dealing with plumbing and mechanical systems. IDEAL CANDIDATE
Knowledge of methods and practices involved in installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of plumbing and mechanical systems and equipment.
Knowledge of a recognized Plumbing Code or Mechanical Code.
Proficient in Microsoft office.
SALARY Pay Range: $82,451 to $121,826 annually. Hiring Range: $82,451 to $100,235 annually. Pay Range Explanation

Two years of experience inspecting and evaluating large or complex plumbing, heating, cooling, and ventilating systems in commercial and multistory residential building projects for compliance with approved plans, Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes (Two years at the level of a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector II).
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Cross Connection Control Program Specialist
Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

Experience as skilled journey-level trades in plumbing, cooling, and/or ventilating.
Experience in Plumbing and Mechanical code enforcement.
Experience using computer programs such as GIS, OnBase, Kiva, and ShapePhx.
Experience with placement of domestic, landscape, and fire backflow assemblies.
