• Typical starting pay will be set at the beginning of the advertised range, depending on qualifications.*Primary PurposeAssists in the general beautification, cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of city parks, greenway areas, city-owned landscaped areas, and the grounds surrounding municipal facilities.SupervisionUnder the direct supervision of the Parks Maintenance Superintendent or as assigned.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Works as a member of a crew to perform the general beautification, cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of city parks, greenway areas, city owned landscaped areas, and the grounds surrounding municipal buildings inclusive of trimming, tree care, landscaping, trash removal, cleaning, etc.Assists Parks and Recreation Department during times of special events.Operates zero turn mowers in a manner consistent with safety principles.Maintains grass areas around the city.Deals effectively and courteously with fellow employees and the general public.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Important DutiesMaintains appropriate supplies for assigned area.Maintains neat and orderly work area.

Physical DemandsPerforms bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, kneeling, and reaching to ground level and overhead; Must be able to reach, grip and hold; Must be able to lift 50 pounds above their head; Must be able to push, pull and carry 60 pounds.Work EnvironmentBoth indoor and outdoor working environments with exposure to dust and pollen, toxic fumes, chemicals or smoke, contagious diseases, electrical and mechanical hazards associated with equipment, extreme noise; Subject to variety of extreme weather condition; Susceptible to safety hazards associated with working in and around high traffic volume; Works in confined places and awkward positions.
