Nature of Work
This limited appointment position will evaluate and review basic electrical, mechanical and/or plumbing plans for conformance to codes, prepare appropriate plan review corrective action correspondence, reviews revised plan documents to ensure compliance, provide recommendations on projects to meet requirements of applicable codes, recommend issuance or denial of plans and permits. On occasion, this position may complete residential or commercial inspections.
Position is contingent upon the availability of allocated funds, as well as favorable performance by theincumbent. When the need for this position ends, the role will be eliminated unless CommunityDevelopment chooses continuation.
Work Schedule:Less than 14 hours per week on an as needed basis; no holidays or weekends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The work below is representative of the scope of work performed within this job classification. Individual job duties will vary based on work assignment.
  • Review mechanical plans for residential and commercial properties for conformance to codes.
  • Prepare appropriate plan review corrective action correspondence, reviews revised plan documents to ensure compliance.
  • Provide recommendations on projects to meet requirements of applicable codes.
  • Recommend issuance or denial of plans and permits.
Complete building inspections as assigned or necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned or necessary.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
High school diploma and at last five (5) years of experience in architecture, construction management, engineering, building inspections or related discipline.
Desirable Qualifications:
ICC Mechanical Inspections Certification.
DLI Building Official Limited Certificate.
