City of San Antonio is Hiring an Alamodome Parking Attendant - Temporary/Events Near San Antonio, TX

Under immediate supervision, collects parking fees from customers, monitors parking facilities. May exercise functional supervision.
This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

Work Schedule

Hours are event & activity dependent
Start and end times and work days vary dependent upon department needs
Includes shift work, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Some major events are required

Collects parking fees from customers.
Receives and verifies correct change fund.
Operates an electronic cash register or time clock to compute fees manually.
Completes daily reports for assigned zone.
Verifies and counts money and number of parking tickets collected; turns in daily receipts to fiscal office.
Monitors assigned parking lot and informs management of any unusual situations or incidents.
Operates two-way communication radio.
Responds to customer complaints and accidents, speaking with and listening to determine best way to address customer concerns.
Provides customers with directions and information as needed.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
Cashier or cash handling experience is highly desirable.
Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.

Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.

Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.
Working conditions are primarily in an outside environment with frequent exposure to temperature variations.
