Kimley-Horn is Hiring a Transportation Planner Near Atlanta, GA

Overview

Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Transportation Planner with 2 of experience to join the Atlanta, GA office! This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the production and delivery of multi-modal transportation systems planning, including data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Tasks and projects may include multi-modal corridor concept development, bicycle and pedestrian analysis and improvement concept development, multi-modal transportation analyses and design, transit operations planning and design, and community outreach.
  • Support all steps of a transportation planning project, including:
    • Initial data gathering and needs identification
    • Goals setting and visioning
    • Development of recommended strategies and design concepts
    • Prioritization and cost estimating
    • Development of technical and public-facing documentation and presentations
  • Project experiences will be diverse, as we provide services to both the public and private sectors
  • Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team member

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as urban planning, transportation planning, or similar
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to write and communicate findings clearly 
  • Demonstrated experience in oral presentations and public speaking 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) 
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and/or StoryMap 
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills 
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
