If so, look no further – McCaw Hall at Seattle Center is seeking 15 friendly, customer-service oriented Intermittent Ushers to help us provide an amazing theater experience to thousands of visitors every day. This role is perfect for students, those seeking supplementary income, and/or anyone passionate about the arts!

McCaw Hall boasts of being the only place to see shows by the Pacific NW Ballet and Seattle Opera as well as host to big name concerts, comedians and even Dancing with the Stars. Choose your schedule (or sign up for our on-call list) to work the shifts convenient for you. Most shifts are evenings, weekends, holidays, with some day shifts.

Intermittent Ushers (including Door Attendants and other Guest Services roles) are primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service, and participating in public safety measures before, during and after Seattle Center events and in emergency situations. 

• Greet guests in a friendly, service-oriented manner
• Direct patrons to seat locations
• Respond to patron inquiries and complaints
• Provide information regarding events and facilities
• Ensure that aisles, stairways and the floors are kept clear in compliance with safety regulations
• Notify appropriate supervisor of unresolved patron concerns, emergencies or unsafe conditions
• Assist with patron egress by clearing aisles and lobbies following events
• Locate patrons and deliver emergency messages
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand in one location for up to 4 hours at a time
• Frequently climb and negotiate stairs and narrow aisles
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, must be able to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
• Position requires hearing and vision acuity, depth perception and ability to function in low light situations

The full salary range for this position is $24.99-$24.99 per hour. Temporary employees begin at step 1, which is $24.99 hourly. Intermittent employees do not get salary step increases. You'll also get premium pay that increases the more hours you work. (Starts at an additional 5% on top of your base rate, up to 25%!)
