Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) has an exciting TEMPORARY Senior Accountant opportunity for its General Ledger and Cost Accounting group. This position will provide technical expertise for the complex functions with the City's financial system, PeopleSoft.
This Temporary Senior Accountant will perform complex data analysis, develop queries, balance large volume of data, recommend process improvement, and assist in the preparation of SPU's three audited financial statements. This position will work closely with four Principal Accountants, Budget, and Rates staff, and will also assist Accountants with reconciliation and sophisticated journals.
This TEMPORARY opportunity is initially non-benefitted and is expected to last up to 11-months in duration.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline - requires satisfactory completion of at least 24 semester hours or 36 quarter credit units in accounting with no substitution allowed (OR if no degree two (2) additional years of qualifying accounting experience is required.
A combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class, will be considered.

The full salary range for this position is $44.61 per hour - $51.95 per hour. Temporary employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, at $44.61 per hour.Workplace Environment (*Telework Expectation):This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office twice a week.
