The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time General Maintenance Worker II in the Public Works Department

Summary of Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance duties, such as mowing, trimming, mulching, and other tasks as directed for general care and maintenance of maintained areas.
• Performs finish and rough-cut mowing of all ROW Division maintained areas.
• Operate and perform general maintenance on mowers, edger, blowers, and other hand-held tools.
• Reports daily to the Crew Chief.
• Aid in the construction and repair of landscape beds and irrigation systems as needed.
• Performs task related to trimming & pruning of trees, shrubs, and ivy walls.
• Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education:

• High School Education or GED Certificate required

Relatable Work Experience:

• Experience in landscape maintenance, construction, irrigation, tree care or general maintenance environment is preferred, but not required

Training (License and/or Certification):

• Valid Texas Class "C" Driver License, or the ability to obtain one within first year of employment.
