JOB
Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Recycling Center, Container Maintenance Facility, and Residential and Commercial operations and report back to the Superintendent.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

• Manage residential crews and supervise drivers and routes and have knowledge of and be able to operate a Frontload, Roll-off, Brush Truck, Container vehicle, Automated, Rear Load, MultiPak and Drive-out Solid Waste disposal vehicle in order to pick up, load and dispose of garbage or noncombustible rubbish from residential and commercial locations.• Evaluate commercial accounts and determine if more service is needed.• Coordinate all commercial hand pickup (1,500 plus accounts).• Assist the Commercial Salesman.• Supervise dumpster and roll-off container maintenance, all cart deliveries, maintenance, warranty and inventory at Container Maintenance Facility.• Perform Driver Training or Route Supervisor as needed.• Supervise Recycle Center and all Commercial and Residential services one Saturday a month or on as needed basis.• Must inspect trucks, dumpsters, roll off containers, carts and compactors for repair.• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and Solid Waste staff and keep them informed.• Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.• Must have basic computer knowledge and be able to communicate and inform using Outlook.• Must have a good knowledge of refuse collection and disposal methods and all applicable safety requirements, rules and regulations.• Must be able to operate equipment safely.• Must be able to complete one man route if required.• Must be able to sit and stand 4 hours daily; bend, stoop, turn and walk 1 hour daily; lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. 1 hour daily; twist, climb, crouch, crawl and kneel 30 minutes daily.• Other duties as assigned.
