This position has primary responsibility to independently inspect properties, investigate complaints, and enforce codes and ordinances to maintain the public safety, health, and welfare of the City of Walker. 

Essential Job Functions

An employee in this position is required to perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Conducts regular inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
• Responds to complaints from citizens, businesses, and other stakeholders regarding potential code violations.
• Respectfully communicates with property owners and occupants to educate and facilitate code compliance.
• Attends court proceedings relating to code enforcement cases as needed.
• Removes unlawful signs from the public right-of-way.
• Stays informed of relevant code amendments, regulations, and best practices through training, seminars, and professional development opportunities, as recommended by the Zoning Administrator.
