City of Yuba City is Hiring a Public Safety Dispatcher II - Lateral (Hiring Incentive Available!) Near Poole, CA

The City of Yuba City is currently recruiting for Public Safety Dispatcher II - (Lateral).
Are you an experienced dispatcher? The City of Yuba City is currently offering a $22,500** Lateral Incentive!
  • Available to Lateral Dispatchers who successfully complete the hiring process with the City of Yuba City. The incentive would be paid in four (4) payments: The first payment of $7,500 would be made upon commencement of employment. The second payment of $5,000 would be made upon successful completion of the training program. The third payment of $5,000 would be made upon the successful completion of 18 months of employment with the City. The fourth and final payment of $5,000 would be made upon successful completion of 36 months of employment with the City. A lateral dispatcher, upon successful hiring would also be given an initial bank of 40 hours of sick leave.
Public Safety Dispatchers operate Police, Fire, and local government radio equipment; dispatch mobile units and provide Emergency Medical Dispatch instructions while performing other related duties.
Employees at this level receive only general direction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedure and policies within the work unit. Employees allocated to this job class must work independently and possess the ability to prioritize assignments and information in an effective and productive manner. Employees must successfully pass training for CPR, EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatching), and the POST Dispatch Academy. Employees are assigned to varying work schedules, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime when required to keep the 24 hour dispatch center fully staffed.Candidate should have the ability to address caller concerns and provide quality service at a level that exceeds expectations. Must thrive under pressure and have the ability to work quickly and efficiently in emergency situations.JOIN YCPD 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 

ExperienceAt least one (1) year experience as a Public Safety Dispatcher I or at least one (1) year of Police Dispatch experience with another law enforcement agency. 

Licenses and/or Certificates Required: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
