• Compensation for this position is in the $57,000 to $62,000 range.
• The anticipated start for this position is October 2024.
• This position is hybrid: At least 3 days/week in person, in and around the greater Philadelphia community, to source recruitment partnerships and to engage directly with prospective Student Success Coach applicants ages 17-25, as well as in the Philadelphia office or schoolhouses for required in-person team meetings or support.
City Year Philadelphia seeks an experienced, collaborative, and innovative Senior Community Partnerships Manager (CPM) to develop local partnerships and enhance recruiting efforts, creating a strong pipeline of prospective AmeriCorps members to serve as Student Success Coaches (SSCs).
The CPM will source recruitment partnerships by leveraging relationships with high schools, community colleges, and youth organizations across Philadelphia and surrounding areas. The goal is to increase awareness among young adults (ages 17-25) of the opportunity to serve with City Year Philadelphia by building strategic partnerships with local youth stakeholders.
This role involves direct engagement with potential applicants (ages 17-25) and requires day and evening travel within and around Philadelphia, PA, and NJ. The CPM will focus on community outreach to showcase the role of a City Year Philadelphia Student Success Coach. A significant portion of the role involves attending in-person visits and events to build relationships with partners, champions, and prospective SSCs, while representing City Year through branded apparel and/or a nametag. This position reports to the Senior Director of Communications & External Relations.

Job Description

Strategic Planning20%

  • Develop and implement a Strategic Community Partnerships Plan with clear goals, strategies, and tactics to enhance recruitment for City Year Philadelphia.

  • Identify and evaluate local organizations and Champions (youth-focused groups, high schools, community colleges, community-based organizations) to strengthen the SSCprospect pipeline.

  • Tailor engagement strategies for each target group (high schools, community colleges, CBOs, alumni).

  • Select and plan to attend events that offer the highest return on investment.

Local Outreach – In-Person Events at High Schools, Community Colleges & Community Based Organizations35%

  • Engage directly with SSC prospects and Champions (school counselors, faculty and staff) through in-person outreach

  • Execute strategies by attending events, career fairs, and visiting schools and campuses to boost City Year's visibility and interaction with Champions and prospects.

  • Host workshops, presentations, and professional development sessions to introduce prospects to City Year and build brand awareness.

  • Facilitate opportunities for prospects to engage with City Year.

  • Enhance local recruitment through consistent social media systems, in partnership with the site’sCommunicationsteam.

Partnership Development & Champion Cultivation –20%

  • Forge strong relationships with local high school teachers and staff, youth organizations, community college faculty and staff, and the Site’s AmeriCorps Alumni base through consistent check-ins and support at events.

  • Collaborate with youth-facing alumni to cultivate Champions and expand partnerships.

  • Enhance candidate sourcing from the School District of Philadelphia by partnering with site staff and counselors.

Collaboration with Internal Key Partners10%

  • Work closely with the regional Corps Talent Acquisition team to deliver a comprehensive recruitment experience.

  • Collaborate with national Community Partnerships Management and Marketing/Communications (MarComm) teams to communicate City Year’s impact.

  • Coordinate with the site’s Impact team, Comms Point, and Alumni Point to engage prospects and Champions.

  • Utilize site staff to access Champions and support high-traffic events.

  • Gain insights from current SSCs to effectively communicate their experiences to prospects. 

Data & Logistics –10%

  • Track weekly progress towards candidate targets and adjust strategies to stay on track.

  • Manage social media logistics in collaboration with Comms.

  • Utilize marketing tools to promote your site.

  • Ensure operational excellence in event execution and partner engagement. 

Organizational Initiatives & Site Support – 5%

  • Work with the Development team to understand partnership priorities and goals, and support shared strategies to meet the overall team's needs

  • Collaborate with other site departments, City Year Headquarters’ Corps Talent Acquistionteam, and other City Year sites on a frequent basis

  • Participate in site and network-wide meetings and calls, providing insight, feedback, and collective problem solving

  • Support and attend all major site events, including fundraisers, service days, training, and other initiatives

  • Engage in structured discussion and training on diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging aimed at developing stronger cultural competency, both individually and collectively as a site

  • Partner with CYP’s departments and staff to ensure that site-wide goals are met, including, but not limited to, the SSC applicant interview process, stakeholder engagement, event and service day participation, and cross-departmental committees

Skills, Knowledge, and Experiences:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in recruitment,relationship cultivation, and/or partner engagement with proven success in delivering measurable results

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 2 additional years of experience

  • Excellent communication skills with diverse audiences (verbal, written, presentation)

  • Strong project and time management; adept at prioritizing and meeting deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams, including those outside direct authority
