About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Controls Specialist to be an important part of our team. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for effectively and proactively establishing, maintaining, and reporting on project cost controls, budget risk management, and materials schedules and allocation to projects. This opportunity sits within Cityside Fiber’s Accounting. The Accounting Department team is responsible for all financial transactions and their corresponding reporting. The objective of this position is to maintain accurate and reliable budgets and report on all related. To be successful in this role you will have strong communication (verbal and written), analytical, and detail-oriented skillsets. You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the Company’s objectives. To be successful you will have superior communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do
  • Review of Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM), vendor pricing, and Purchase Order (PO) Issuance against established budgets
  • Update and maintain the project and document controls process to ensure documents are filed appropriately and work processes are used according to project procedures
  • Monitor project performance and ensure that the project control process is properly implemented
  • Generate cost reports including budget/contingency tracking, cost/budget forecast, and variance of planned vs actual
  • Overall responsibility for compliance projects with project control standards - both from applicable contract documents and project controls policies/guidelines
  • Review contractor Master Service Agreement (MSA) and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout
  • Develop cost estimates, change order estimates, and other estimates as defined
  • Develop cost report templates, as needed
  • Develop and produce reports to monitor the budget progress and status of the project
  • Administrative and document control support for project-related documents
  • Prepare weekly and monthly or quarterly project reports that include cost, schedule, risk, and quality sections
  • Produce schedule reports including near-term tracking, planned vs actual and milestone variance
  • Participate in estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and baselines
  • Participate in external and internal management project status reporting meetings
  • Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber

Qualifications

  • High-energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high-growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different, and has fun disrupting an industry.
  • 2 years of experience in a telecom or technology company or related field.
  • Experience communicating to and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Proven history of excellent customer service and ability to build relationships
  • Excellent organizational skills- Ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated intense customer focus.
  • Demonstrated the highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty, and strong work ethic.
  • Takes initiative. Doesn’t wait to be asked. Plans efficiently while avoiding analysis paralysis.
  • Proven history of managing several project budgets simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of the fiber internet market and technology trends.
  • Sharp, analytical, and thoughtful. Has sound judgment and ability to be right a lot.
  • Consistent effort, intense commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond when needed.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite; or other similar account software or project management software.
  • Understanding of telecommunication infrastructure and networking concepts.

Location

Our Headquarters and field offices are located in Irvine. May be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.

Compensation

Starting at $75,000 annual base (actual starting rate may be higher based on candidate’s qualifications, skills and years of experience). Full-Time Position.
