Summary of Position:

The Senior Technical Analyst primarily procures, conditions, and analyzes data in a manner that facilitates value-added decision-making processes within the organization. This role is pivotal in enhancing data flow through the automation of workflows and the development of innovative solutions. This position plays a key role in supporting various departments, including Engineering, Operations, and Finance, by providing technical assistance in automation tasks.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Create and customize dashboards and scorecards tailored to specific business needs.
• Utilize tools such as Spotfire and PowerBi to summarize and present data in a visually compelling and insightful manner.
• Provide technical expertise and support for the automation of tasks within Engineering, Operations, and Finance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain and support the ARIES database, ensuring accurate data population, extraction, and interpretation.
• Contribute to budget cycles, inventory management, and economic summaries through ARIES.
• Develop and generate mapping solutions to enhance data visualization and aid decision-making processes.
• Automation and improvement of data pulls using SQL and/or other scripts.
• Develop innovative solutions to workflows and data flow. 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

• Experience with Petroleum Economics and Reserves Software, such as Aries, required.
• Experience with Data Visualization Software, such as Power BI or Spotfire preferred.
• Expertise in SQL and other scripts
• Ability to pull and summarize data in an effective manner.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in both an independent and collaborative work environment and have exceptional skills in managing multiple demands, including prioritizing deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or Geological Engineering required or an additional 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in technical analysis within oil and gas.
• Experience in working with drilling, production, reservoir, or other relevant technical data is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing complex technical data sets, generating insights, and providing actionable recommendations to improve operational efficiency or decision-making.

Travel Requirements:

• Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
• Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
• Travel required to the Civitas field locations.

Base Pay Range: $119,200 - $124,400
