Summary: The Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging of liquid and dry materials into containers according to customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other Duties may be assigned.
  1. Fill various containers with products.
  2. Label containers.
  3. Box, seal, and palletize products.
  4. Read, interpret, and follow package sheet instructions.
  5. Record information regarding raw material usage and finished products on packaging sheets and pallet summaries.
  6. Clean up around area.
  7. Clean out filling equipment.
  8. Dispose of waste materials properly.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Packaging Operators may be responsible for assisting with training and supervision of temporary or new employees.

    Qualification requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.     Education and/or Experience:
    High School Diploma or GED. Georgia Work Ready test required. Minimum Scores: Graphic Literacy: 3; Applied Math: 3; Workplace Documents: 3.

    Language Skills:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret packaging sheets and MSDSs. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and visitors.

    Mathematical Skills:
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret bar graphs.

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to lift, twist, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25lb and must be able to lift up to 50lb regularly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
