CJE SeniorLife Brand is Hiring an Exec Dir - TamariskNShore Near Deerfield, IL

Compensation: $160k-$180k

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides strong and visible leadership for residents and staff.
  • Delivers on financial objectives including occupancy, operating expense, and capital investments.
  • Ensures a strong risk management culture with established processes and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relations and open communication, both formal and informal, with residents and their family members.
  • Delivers a highly satisfactory living experience for residents.
  • Keeps informed of current developments, trends, and practices which pertain to overall success of Tamarisk Northshore.
  • Serves as a leader in the community to build and develop awareness of Tamarisk Northshore.
  • Partners with the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer to meet or exceed occupancy targets by developing marketing plans and actively participating in marketing or outreach efforts.
  • Administers all programs and services in a manner that will result in the provision of quality service to the residents within budgetary guidelines.
  • Provides leadership for and institutes policies and procedures to fulfill applicable requirements of CJE SeniorLife as well as objectives for marketing, outreach, customer satisfaction, compliance, and risk management.
  • Develops annual operating budgets and detailed department level plans to deliver on financial and operational objectives.
  • Effectively manages staff and builds strong work culture.
  • Keeps informed of trends, knows the competitive marketplace, and builds relationships with others in the industry.
  • Attends resident council, town hall, and other resident committee meetings to keep updated on what the “hot topics” are in the community.
  • Ensures good communication between leadership and residents, keeping residents informed of updates, new programming, etc. that is happening at Tamarisk.
  • Works with colleagues within CJE SeniorLife to promote the integration of services within CJE SeniorLife and to promote utilization of CJE SeniorLife services as appropriate from other product lines.

Reporting and Key Working Relationships

  • The Executive Director reports directly to the Vice President and CFO.
  • The Executive Director provides on-going supervision to Dining, Maintenance and Housekeeping, Life Enrichment, Sales, and Business Operations.
  • The Executive Director is to have strong and collaborative relationships with senior management and key operating areas to include President and CEO, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, and other members of CJE SeniorLife Senior Leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CJE’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work of staff or volunteers.
  • Appraising performance.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintaining relations across Agency departments, functions, and committees as well as community organizations and the CJE Board.

Corporate Compliance 

  • Responsible for overall compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, standards, and adherence of safe work practices.
  • Responsible for detection and reporting of non-compliance and for staff attendance at required in services.
  • This position has responsibility for HIPAA compliance in the execution of duties as well as for assuring that subordinate department members are HIPAA trained and compliant.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is not likely to occur in this position.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, employees and outside individuals and groups.

  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly and families.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services administration or related field required.
  • Seven years in related management experience in senior living administration required.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
