Job Summary

As a Treatment Foster Care Clinical Support Specialist at CK Family Services, you will be responsible for providing family oriented, individual and/or group rehabilitative mental health services, skills training and development, medication training, parenting skills training, and intensive case management services to clients of the agency per state specified standards and requirements. It is the responsibility of the professional to provide clinically appropriate services, a minimum of two times per month, to all consumers assigned for services. Minimum job requirements total a minimum of 20 direct client contact hours to be provided each week, Sunday through Saturday. The TFC QMHP will participate in an on-call rotation for the TFC homes.

GeneralResponsibilities

  • Provide curriculum based rehabilitative services to families, individuals and groups.
  • Complete all case records (notes, treatment plans, and uniform assessments) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Document services provided with the understanding that all clinical notations are considered legal documents and can be used in a court of law. All documentation should be true and accurate and under no circumstance falsified in any manner.
  • Send service updates via Yammer following each session to client’s treatment team.
  • Prepare and present all assigned cases for review by a supervisor, as required on a prescribed basis.
  • Immediately contact your supervisor and file a report with DFPS if you suspect a consumer has been the victim of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Immediately contact your supervisor if you have been called to testify or to be involved in legal proceedings.
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times and be familiar with all HIPPA laws and regulations.
  • Attend all Team, Treatment team, Individual, and Training Meetings as required and scheduled.
  • Participate in TFC pre-placement meetings or phone conferences as deemed appropriate
  • Participate in the initial placement meeting of a child in the TFC home.
  • Participate in on call rotation for the TFC homes.
  • Maintain professional certification and/or licensure, as this applies.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner at all times with an understanding that you are also representing CK Family Services
  • Ensure that those in the community that you serve are aware of all services offered within the agency.
  • Ensure the highest level of professional demeanor and customer service are provided at all times.
  • Serve on task forces as requested.
  • Provide consultation to vendor agencies with whom our agency contracts, as required.
  • Obey all city, state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  • Perform duties without violation of any ethical standards, state or federal codes, or agency requirements.
  • Be familiar with the Policies and Procedures Manual, Employee Handbook, and Employee Expectations.
  • Report any critical incidents, including suspected child abuse, neglect, or exploitation, immediately to the Abuse and Neglect Hotline and Director.
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of DSHS including licensure rules and regulations and suspected fraudulent practices.
  • Participate in Child and Family Team meetings as appropriate.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and agency administrative meetings as required.
  • Provide transportation as required.
  • Respond immediately to calls received on cellular phone.
  • Complete and report documentation timely and accurately.
  • Open and process mail / e-mail daily in a timely manner.
  • Answer phone, collect messages and respond to requests timely and accurately.
  • Input data into computer accurately and timely.
  • Represent CK Family Services in the community by attending meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by government law and regulations, as well as maintain compliance with all CK Family Services policies, procedures, and state and federal laws.
  • Contact clients and return all calls within 24 hours of receipt, or next business day.
  • Complete an accurate and timely documentation log of each case management activity.
  • Complete and report documentation timely and accurately.
  • Open and process mail/e-mail daily in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as requested.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field as specified in the Texas Administrative Code for QMHP qualifications.
  • Must possess basic therapeutic skills.
  • Experience and training in working with individuals with severs and persistent mental illness, children with severe emotional disturbances, and delivery of services based on curriculum.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills that include but are not limited to data entry, MS Office, jobsite portals and company software.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people
  • Must be comfortable with heavy travel to homes across the state of Texas.
  • Strong cognitive, decision-making and problem-solving skills and a willingness to take on new projects with a “can do” attitude
  • Strong desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to motivate people; ability to develop and exercise good supervisory skills.
  • Ability work effectively under stress and remain flexible in changing situations.
  • Ability to be on-call as necessary and respond immediately to different communication platforms.
  • Ability to participate in training and facilitate training as required.
  • Perform the physical demands of the position –
    • Ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people;
    • Ability to step backwards, grasp, bend at the waist and knees, lower 30-50 pounds to the ground, be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance, exhibit full range of motion in both arms and legs, and be able to do a deep, reverse lunge (SAMA Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression).
    • Ability to walk frequently; stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; squat occasionally, climb stairs infrequently, and kneel and twist as needed.
    • Sufficient good health to properly fulfill all role responsibilities. Employees shall not be permitted to work who have infectious diseases or skin lesions for the duration of the communicability.
