Description

Clack Corporation, a privately held company, established over 70 years ago is now hiring! We are a leading manufacturer and distributor of water treatment components and drinking water products, as well as specialized in custom blow molding products.

We are looking for a Project Process Engineer to join our team!

Summary: Product development from concept to production, existing product refinement, inspection and testing of products prior to release into production, and design/implementation of production process improvements for blow molding.

  1. Perform new product design, testing and implementation of water treatment components.
  2. Maintain and improve existing water treatment product lines including but not limited to blow molded articles, reverse osmosis, brine tanks/valves, and in/out heads.
  3. Assist with blow molding process development and documentation.
  4. Creates three dimensional models, parts drawings, assembly drawings, QC drawings/requirements and isometric assembly drawings.
  5. Utilizes engineering drawing/document control system (PDM).
  6. Evaluate new products and existing products for compliance with end use specifications and product acceptability requirements.
  7. Perform verification and validation of products.
  8. Evaluate failures and identify issues with new and existing products while implementing effective solutions.
  9. Establishes product specifications, dimensions, material composition, etc. used in the quality assurance standards of the product.
  10. Effectively communicate with all departments on engineering, production, and product issues.
  11. Coordinate creation/modification of ERP system data such as bills of materials and routings.
  12. Provides engineering and troubleshooting support to manufacturing areas as needed.
  13. Works with outside vendors. Obtains quotes and recommends appropriate action.
  14. Initiate purchase orders and approve payment on materials, components, parts and tooling.
  15. Coordinating new builds and revisions with mold makers on new and existing molds.
  16. Maintains proper organization of drawing files, product specifications and projects.
  17. Assist in the development of sales literature and marketing materials.
  18. Write technical procedures, instructions, reports, and other documents.
  19. Follow and comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations including housekeeping standards and wearing of appropriate personal protection equipment.
  20. Respond to technical inquiries on water treatment products and methods as needed.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent required with 5 years of experience
  2. Knowledge of blow molded part design and processes preferred
  3. Previous engineering work experience in a manufacturing environment a must.
  4. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  5. Extensive 3D Modeling experience required (SolidWorks preferred).
  6. Ability to design and create drawings of parts from concepts, part description, specification, other drawings, sketches, or existing parts.
  7. Proficient in precision plastic component design for blow molded and injection molded parts.
  8. Experience in designing parts for pressurized water applications preferred.
  9. Working knowledge of blow molding, injection molding, plastic properties and sealing methods.
  10. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  11. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others.
  12. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.
  13. Ability to accurately use measuring instruments and gauges.
  14. Ability to use and operate laboratory equipment, basic shop equipment and tools.
  15. Ability to read, analyze, interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, technical procedures, etc.
  16. Ability to work on multiple projects independently and without supervision. Self-starter.
  17. Strong mechanical aptitude.
  18. A basic knowledge of electronic controls and circuits.
  19. Solid computer background. Able to effectively work with Windows, Word, Excel, etc.
  20. Extended sitting and standing. Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
