MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Desire to work with adult learners from diverse backgrounds, possess above average patience and have an ability to nurture students. Ability to skillfully communicate in verbal, written and kinesthetic form. 3-years of recent industry experience in a manufacturing environment. A professional-level understanding of common manufacturing principles, graphical communications and related technical math.
Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College’s culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Infrequently may be required to move equipment or materials weighing over 75 lbs. with assistance from other personnel or lifting equipment such as hoists or forklift.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work location subjects incumbent to Welding fumes, Welding flash, and lubricants and coolants used in metal cutting. Exposure to mist from grinders and smoke from welding and machining operations is frequent. The noise level in the work area is louder than typically found of most office environments. Hearing protection is recommended, but not required. Safety glasses are required at all times on the shop floor.
