Qualifications :
TheConstruction Estimator will be responsible for projects withsignificant construction risks; ensuring that the company reads theplans correctly has the proper calculations adheres to designspecifications and creates solutions to maximize financial strengthand minimize cost overruns.
The Estimator will work on a variety ofprojects from municipalities to private clients. Must have 35 yearsexperience in concrete and civil construction to apply.
Must befamiliar with APWA KCMO / MODOT / KOT standard specs Must havecommercial concrete construction experience
Duties / Responsibilities :
Prepare Project estimates in B2W
Accurately setup each job in the bidding software
Correctlyreading and interpreting blueprints and specifications andagendas
Prepare Takeoff quantities in Plan swiftand Microsoft excel templates
Provide anoverrun / underrun comparison for selfperformed items ofwork
Be prepared for bidreviews
Compile Sub and Supplier quotes. Utilizethe quote subsystem in estimating software forcomparisons
Price project on bid date and submitbid closing summary to PA
Recommend finalmargin
Pricing should take advantage of overrunsand underruns when possible
Establishing andsetting priorities according to your workload
Estimate up to $5mil / project and can handle multiple projectsaveraging $750K
Producing 34 complete estimates per week with multiple in thepipeline
Providing timely and accurate materialtake offs
Become intimately familiar with plans& specifications for the Project
Developa complete understanding of our bid bid assumptions budget SCAs& P.O.s
Develop a good big pictureunderstanding of theProject
