Facilities Manager Job DescriptionOverview:The Facilities Manager will oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. They will be responsible for ensuring that the best physical resources are available to complete their duties efficiently. A successful Facilities Manager will possess a comprehensive understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and other crafts. They will be well-versed in maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting. The primary goal is to ensure the company facilities are well cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations.As a working manager, the Facilities Manager will actively participate in hands-on maintenance and repair tasks in addition to overseeing the facilities team.Job Responsibilities:Develop and implement schedules and strategies for regular, preventive, and corrective maintenance, minimizing downtime and maximizing asset lifespan.Conduct regular inspections of facilities to monitor the condition of property, facilities, and equipment, promptly identifying maintenance needs to ensure operational efficiency.Coordinate with property owners, vendors, and other external stakeholders, as needed, to ensure that facilities are safe, well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards.Direct vendors for services such as lawn care, extermination, HVAC, plumbing, and other facility-related needs, coordinating activities efficiently to meet operational requirements.Optimize the efficiency and reliability of production processes, methods, labor, energy, and equipment to enhance overall operational performance.Ensure a safe and orderly work environment, adhering to corporate and governmental rules and regulations to promote workplace safety and compliance.Determine staffing levels and enforce policies, work rules, and other standards to maintain productivity and accountability.Supervise, train, and evaluate staff and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance and adherence to standards.Ensure on-call coverage for facilities support and maintenance.Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain role-specific certifications.Qualifications / Skills:Strong closing skills and project management abilities.Effective verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills.General working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, sprinkler systems, and security systems.Customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.Leadership qualities and professionalism.Proficiency with commonly used technology; able to navigate computer-based systems of record on desktop, laptop, and mobile applications. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.Certification as a general contractor or eligible for certifiation.Proven experience in facility management or related field, demonstrating competence in overseeing facility operations effectively.Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and coordinate facility-related activities.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and facility inspections.Familiarity with relevant regulations and safety standards, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000If you have proven experience in facility management or a related field, a strong understanding of maintenance processes and health and safety regulations, and excellent communication and organizational skills, we invite you to apply for this position.
