Today, Claremont owns in excess of 60 real estate assets consisting of hotels, apartments, retail centers, and office buildings with plans to expand even further. 

Claremont is growing and we’re looking to add a Houseperson/Shuttle Driver to our team and support our Homewood Suites hotel in Glastonbury, Connecticut. This role is responsible for assisting all housekeeping personnel in the performance of heavy duty work as directed by the Executive Housekeeper and providing guests with shuttle transportation and we would love to add you to our team!

This is a full-time position that requires night and weekend availability. 

Houseperson Responsibilities:

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with guests, vendors, co-workers and management.
• Remove dirty linen from cleaning carts or designated area and deliver to laundry as assigned
• Clean all guest corridors, floors, fireplaces, ovens, elevators and landings, linen closets, guest laundry, exercise room, employee lounge and other public areas as assigned
• Remove trash from cleaning carts and deposit in dumpsters
• Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
• Clean, maintain and store cleaning equipment
• Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting when necessary.
• Dusts and polishes metalwork.
• Other duties as assigned.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and safe van for guest transportation. 
• Notify maintenance of any service needs 
• Maintain and review vehicle mileage log sheet and schedule 
• Assist guests with luggage or other personal belongings 
• Answer guests’ questions regarding local area facilities 
• Drive defensively and safely when driving the hotel van. Wear your seat belt at all times. 
• Use the van only for company business

Requirements

• Must be available to work nights and weekends
• 3 months related experience
• Valid driver's license and driving record in good standing
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Excellent communication skills when speaking with managers, coworkers, vendors and/or customers
