**A Brief Overview**

The Trauma Nurse Coordinator assists the Trauma Program Manager (RN) and Trauma Program Medical Director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the trauma program for the hospitals and clinics. The Trauma Nurse Coordinator participates in clinical rounds, monitors and measures the quality and timeless of care provided by physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers for injured patients of all age groups throughout the continuum of care and facilitates and coordinates quality assurance/improvement activities, from pre-hospital care through discharge and rehabilitation. The Trauma Coordinator's role is structured to facilitate interaction with all units and disciplines involved with trauma care.

**What you will do**

Assists the Trauma Program Manager (RN) and Medical Director with coordination of trauma care management, including planning and implementing of clinical protocols/practice management guidelines, monitoring care of in-hospital patients, and serving as a resource for clinical practice. Assists staff in problemsolving relating to the care of the trauma patient. Coordinates patient care with attending physicians, consulting physicians, rehabilitation staff, dietitians, nurses and other healthcare providers.

Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to round on adult & pediatric trauma patients at Stanford Hospitals and Clinics and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital.Concurrently identifies, tracks, and enters trauma performance improvement and patient safety issues into thetrauma database.

Coordinates the Advanced Traumal Life Support course for Physicians.Implements and oversees the ACS Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) at Stanford Hospitals and Clinics, including coordination of data collection, validation & submission of data to the National Trauma Data Bank.

In collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director, is accountable for Trauma process and outcome measures, including multidisciplinary performance improvement-patient safety, quality and timeliness of care throughout the continuum.

Oversees Pediatric Trauma process & outcome measures, including multidisciplinary performance improvement-patient safety, quality & timeliness of care throughout the continuum.

Participates in local, regional & statewide trauma meetings and educational forums as necessary.

Participates in the Trauma Medical Audit Committee, Trauma Performance Improvement & Patient Safety Committee, Trauma Professional Peer Evaluation Committee, and other Stanford Hospitals and Clinics committees as necessary.

Serves as hospital liaison with external regulatory agencies regarding the Trauma program. Participates inlocal, regional and statewide trauma meetings and educational forums as necessary.

**Education Qualifications**

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university

**Experience Qualifications**

Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

**Licenses and Certifications**

BLS - Basic Life Support and

RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure and

TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course or

ATCN - Adv Trauma Care Nurse within 1 1/2 Yrs

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $70.43 - $93.34 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
