What you will do: The Senior Manager/Director, Financial Risk is responsible for managing the Company’s foreign exchange and commodities hedging programs along with finding strategic financial solutions for commodities while driving financial benefits for the company. This position will be located in Glendale, Wisconsin or Hannover, Germany. How you will do it:Financial Risk
Develop, propose, and implement metals risk management strategies working in collaboration with Treasury, Global Strategy, Corporate Controller and Procurement
Conduct risk assessment related to foreign exchange / commodity / interest rate risks and advise the business on hedging
Lead all aspects of implementation of hedging programs
Develop and manage relationship with banks in the global hedging program
Work with team to execute trades, refine global hedging strategy, and train regional finance staff
Structured Finance
Explore and originate enterprise-level structured finance solutions for commodity inventory and strategic reserve management that drive strategic and financial benefits
Partner with VP of Metals and Regional Lead teams to drive structured financial analyses to appropriately assess new metals transactions and financing requirements
Develop and maintain relationships with risk management and broader financial institution professionals to enhance Clarios commodity market intelligence and support strategic execution of hedging and financing strategies.
Drive, design, and support implementation of appropriate commodity risk management information systems to maintain visibility to global metals positions
Implement and monitor process improvements, training, and talent development across the organization
Interface with all levels of the organization, deliver presentations and make recommendations to senior and executive level management.
People Development
Two direct reports: Manager – Financial Risk (Glendale) & Manager – Financial Risk (Hannover)
Train team using trading best practices
Manage team members by developing objectives and development plan in line with the department global strategy
Demonstrate leadership and training skills to further develop manager and analysts within the department
What we look for:
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
Minimum 10 years of progressive business experience
Ability to translate complex concepts and dynamics into simple but effective frameworks for senior leadership audiences
Track record of successfully providing risk management support for global sourcing and/or trading of physical metals / other commodities
Global experience with particular focus in North American, Latin America, Europe and China
Advanced training in price risk management disciplines, including expertise in commodity financing solutions and market analysis
Excellent communication skills and customer focused approach
