Job Overview:
We are currently looking for a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living and caregiving with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Duties:
- Assist individual with developmental disabilities in daily activities and tasks
- Provide direct support and care to ensure the well-being of individual
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed
- Support individual with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure a safe and nurturing environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to provide comprehensive care
- Engage individual in social activities and promote independence
Skills:
The following skills and experiences are required or preferred for this role:
- Experience in assisted living or working with people with developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in caregiving, including ADLs
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy
- Ability to provide compassionate and direct support
- Experience in home care or similar settings is a plus
