Position Title: Clinical Director of Therapy Location: Clarity Psychological Testing, Massachusetts (Hybrid) Reports To: Executive Vice President (EVP) Position Summary: Clarity Psychological Testing seeks a highly qualified and licensed Clinical Director to lead and develop our therapy department. The ideal candidate will recruit and onboard clinicians, oversee all aspects of patient care, ensure quality assurance, and develop an in-house therapy referral program. This role requires a dynamic leader who supervises and mentors clinical staff, develops and updates clinical guidelines and aligns clinical operations with organizational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical and Psychological Assessments:
Complete psychological assessments as assigned and ensure timely completion of necessary paperwork and reports
Help audit psychometrist scoring and training to ensure standardization of care
Perform and interpret psychological and behavioral assessments, formulate diagnosis, and write related reports promptly
Effectively communicate findings to consumers, family members, professionals, and other appropriate individuals daily
Interdisciplinary Team Membership:
Operate effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Complete psychological assessments requested by the court as assigned
Assess consumer eligibility through reviews of developmental or psychological assessments, recording findings in an eligibility statement
Clinical Oversight and Guidance:
Provide clinical oversight and guidance to other clinical staff as assigned
Formulate, monitor, and revise treatment plans as requested
Provide onboarding training to all clinicians and hold monthly clinicians same page meetings
Consultation, Education, and Training:
Provide routine consultation, education, and training to staff, community agencies, parents, and consumers
Aggressively seek out opportunities to maintain currency and expand relevant knowledge base, particularly as it relates to eligibility or treatment issues
Attend training sessions as required and stay current with Massachusetts Board of Psychology licensure requirements
Maintain good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Psychology
Perform different or additional duties as assigned
Department Development:
Develop the therapy department by recruiting and onboarding 20 clinicians per year, averaging 5 per quarter
Conduct at least 15-20 patient intakes and provide feedback weekly
Patient Care and Quality Assurance:
Oversee all aspects of patient care, ensuring high standards of quality
Address patient concerns and reviews, investigating issues and implementing improvements as necessary
In-House Therapy Referral Program:
Conduct needs assessments for patients to identify therapy requirements
Develop and manage an in-house therapy referral program, matching patients with the appropriate providers based on their specialties
Identify each provider's specialties and maintain an up-to-date database for referral purposes
Blue-line, create Loom videos, and develop SOPs for all future clinicians to streamline the referral process and ensure consistency
Operational Alignment:
Coordinate with the EVP to ensure clinical goals align with operational strategies
Discuss systemic issues, formulate test batteries, order new tests, and train PMs on new tests
Culture Building and Leadership:
Foster a positive and accountable culture within the clinical team
Help build a positive reputation with our patients and community
Provide leadership on complex cases, best practice approaches, and ensure clinicians feel led and supported
Provide guidance and direction when people need it, and hold them accountable to their KPIs, leading by example
Crisis Intervention and HIPAA Compliance:
Lead crisis intervention efforts and oversee suicide risk prevention and intervention protocols
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations
Training and Supervision:
Provide training and supervision to clinicians and PMs, ensuring adherence to best practices
Be available in-office as needed, especially for new hires and PMs
Conduct second-round interviews for new therapist/psychologist hires, including clinical questions and sample PA writing evaluations
Employee Reviews and Feedback:
Conduct therapist reviews and provide feedback to employees and PMs
Participate in weekly meetings and company briefings, bringing relevant KPIs to discuss progress and areas for improvement
Minimum Position Requirements:
Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology, or within six months of completing the graduate degree program.
Experience: One year of responsible professional experience, including substantive experience in testing and diagnostic evaluation of individuals with developmental disabilities, physical handicaps, emotional/mental disturbances, or learning disorders
Licensure: Possession of a license as a psychologist issued by the Massachusetts Board of Psychology. Pre-licensed psychologists will be considered if they are in the process of completing their licensure requirements
Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred
Skills: Ability to handle change well, be flexible and adaptable in dealing with interruptions, new priorities, and new assignments. Ability to follow oral and written directions, establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, and possess good verbal and written communication skills
