TITLE: Cleaning Technician
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
DEPARTMENT: Commercial Operations
Description Summary: Performs a variety of tasks relating to the cleaning of assigned commercial areas which may include entrances, reception, corridors, conference rooms, classrooms, workspaces, break rooms, and restrooms. Performs all work in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Work assignments will vary according to site responsibilities, outages in service, experience, and ability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)
1. Receives and understands instructions of cleaning requirements of assigned areas.
2. Receives instructions on schedule and timeframes for cleaning areas and buildings.
3. Uses a variety of cleaning equipments, materials and products; such as vacuums, mops, microfiber cloths, cleaning solutions, etc.
4. Depending on assignment may do any or all of the following on a daily, weekly or periodic basis:
5. Cleans (vacuums, dusts, mops, etc.) assigned areas to customer and Company standards
6. Empties trash cans, replaces liners, and wipes trash cans as required
7. Cleans and sanitizes phones, vacuums carpets, and sweeps and mops tile floors
8 Dusts office furniture, blinds, window sills, plants, air vents, and light fixtures, etc.
9. Spot cleans all interior glass and doors
10. Wipes walls, doors, door frames, and other vertical surfaces free of smudges and fingerprints
11. Cleans and polishes chrome and stainless steel fixtures, sinks, faucets, kick plates, switch plates, etc.
12. Cleans restrooms including sinks, toilets, partitions, and urinals. Sanitizes counters and sinks. Checks and replenishes paper and feminine hygiene products, soap, and lotion dispensers.
13. Performs all work safely in accordance with OSHA and Company requirements.
14. Maintains awareness of where all product SDSs are located.
15. Wears personal protective equipment as required.
16. Respond positively and promptly to site work orders.
17. Conduct all work in accordance with company procedures, including safety, door lock, time & attendance, and uniform policies.
Job Description:
Works inside commercial office buildings, medical and dental facilities, and various learning institutions most of the time.
Takes out trash, if required, in all weather conditions.
Position requires physical strength and dexterity to operate necessary equipment and perform required cleaning duties.
Normal visual and hearing abilities required. Frequent bending and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular, recurring basis.
Must be able to meet work schedule which may include days, or nights, weekends and/or holidays. Must be willing to change shift schedule with minimal advance notice. Occasional overtime, regardless of schedule, may be required.
Pay range: $14 to $16 an hour.
**Please note there has been an increase to $14 an hour to start at Chesapeake sites ONLY, effective immediately**
