Clarke County School District is Hiring a School Based Health Center Coordinator Near Athens, GA
Overall PurposeThe job of the School Based Health Center (SBHC) Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of providing support, oversight, and coordination of the school district’s SBHC program, including existing SBHCs as well as the creation, coordination and implementation of new SBHC’s. School Based Health Center Coordinator is on a 220 work day schedule. Direct SupervisorDirector of School Nursing Essential Functions
Coordinates and manages policies and procedures related to SBHC enrollment, consent, and release during school-day for SBHC clinical visits, health education and small groups.
Provides administrative oversight and functional supervision of SBHC staff
Develops and maintains the SBHC policy and procedure manual.
Coordinates consent process and enrollment paperwork
Fields phone calls and questions regarding the SBHC process.
Coordinates and works with the patient care team structure and processes
Collects, analyzes, and reports SBHC data to the school district.
Obtains updated clerical information in accordance with procedural guidelines ensuring that all appropriate document/information has been entered at the time of registration.
Serves as a community liaison and spokesperson for the school district’s school based health centers.
Serves as a grant writer and preparer for the school-based health centers.
Works with the various schools in which the school-based health centers are housed to ensure collaboration between administration, faculty, and custodial staff.
Assists in the coordination and publicizing of all school programs - including vaccine, vision, and dental clinics as well as sports physicals for students.
Maintains strong relationship with school administration, school nurse, school health related staff, and teachers.
Facilitate weekly / monthly meetings with various SBHC teams.
Completes special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintain confidentiality and by abiding by laws and principles related to confidentiality (FERPA, HIPPA, etc); keep information concerning SBHC operations, patients and employees confidential.

RequirementsBachelor's Degree with at least 3 years experience in SBHC or school health work. Physical RequirementsThe usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
