Clarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a Laboratory Intern who will be responsible for defining the distribution and density of target mosquito species in relation to human populations. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors and in a lab environment, is interested in public health, sustainability, and learning different aspects of mosquito operations. WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY

• starting at $16/hr
• Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Full-time seasonal position (generally May - End of September)

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LABORATORY INTERN

• Background in Biology, Entomology, Environmental Science or related field preferred
• Currently enrolled or recent graduate from an accredited University or College preferred
• This position may be used for internship credit with the university's approval
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
• Required to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)
• Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A LABORATORY INTERN

• Monitor/collect surveillance traps in an assigned region
• Identify adult and larval mosquitoes to species
• Ability to recognize and troubleshoot field-related challenges
• Prepare mosquitoes for virus testing
• Surveillance equipment inventory and organization
• Data entry and analysis
