COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Clarkson Regional Health Services is seeking a Communications and Public Relations Manager to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication, PR, and branding/marketing strategy. This is a newly created position for our organization! As the Communications and Public Relations Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of our efforts to connect with our audience, enhance our brand visibility, and drive strategic initiatives forward.

Clarkson Regional Health Services is a dynamic nonprofit organization, dedicated to improving and advancing healthcare in Nebraska and Western Iowa. We operate in a hybrid format, both developing and conducting our own programs and activities, and also providing funding and grantmaking to other nonprofit organizations. As we continue to grow and expand our reach, we recognize the critical importance of effective communication and strategic branding to amplify our impact.

Role Overview:

The Communications and Public Relations Manager will be an integral part of a close-knit team. The position requires both leadership qualities and the ability to execute tasks independently. This is a multifaceted role where you'll be responsible for:

  • Crafting our Story: Develop and refine our organizational narrative to effectively communicate our impact, mission, and vision to stakeholders and the public.
  • Content Creation: Generate compelling content across various platforms, including, but not limited to, website, social media, press releases, and marketing materials; develop the organization’s digital presence.
  • Brand Management: Maintain brand consistency and integrity across all communication channels, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.
  • Execution and Oversight: Take charge of executing initiatives from conception to completion, which may include managing relationships with external agencies/vendors as they relate to communications, marketing, media, and branding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  •  6-7 years’ experience in relevant areas, including public relations, communications, and/or brand management/marketing, with increasing responsibility
  • Prior experience in healthcare or with a nonprofit/philanthropic organization is a plus!

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches
  • Excellence in writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of strategic communication principles, public relations techniques, and marketing strategies
  • Exceptional writing, editing and story-telling, and presentation skills
  • Ability to frame ideas, develop narrative, and creatively and strategically synthesize complex material (research, medical, etc.) in a way that appeals to a wide variety of audiences
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, website communications, and social media. Ability to develop positive, productive professional relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to provide effective counsel to leadership on strategic and critical communication issues and to exercise effective judgment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop and manage project and event budgets
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
  • Effective project manager with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare terminology preferred 

Working at Clarkson Regional Health Services:

Our office is conveniently located off Regency Parkway- right in the center of Omaha, with easy access to Interstate 680. Most employees work a 4:1 hybrid schedule, with four days in the office and one remote day each week. We have a small, collaborative team and work in a relaxed environment with a casual dress code.
