Director Of Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the corporate accounting department comprising general ledger and transactional accounting activities and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of the food management and logistics business.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Coordinate with the procurement and logistics teams to provide financial insights and support effective inventory management, distribution, and procurement decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making processes.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with industry-specific standards and regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial information to senior management.
- Monitor the company's cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities to ensure financial stability and growth.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, contributing to the development and execution of long-term business strategies, including expansion plans and potential partnerships or acquisitions.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, manage audit processes, and address any financial concerns or inquiries.
- Evaluate and improve financial systems and tools, leveraging technological solutions to enhance financial operations and reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Present financial reports and findings to the executive team and provide recommendations for improving financial performance and mitigating risks.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to the company's long-term financial planning and decision-making
- Strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
