Clayton Services is Hiring a Logistics Coordinator Near Pasadena, TX
Clayton Services is searching for a Logistics Coordinator to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating communication between production, sales, and distribution stages to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain.
Job Type : Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate : $20.00-$22.00 / hour
Benefits : Excellent benefits are available after the successful completion of the temporary period including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and more.
Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities :
- Facilitates operational aspects of offsite facility, including but not limited to shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, claims
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s to track and assess on-time shipping (OTS) performance to drive improvement
- Provide all required shipping documentation (Ocean Bill Of Lading, Packing List, Commercial Invoice, COO, etc.) for all imports and export functions
- Responsible for updating ERP with current and accurate delivery information, this includes OBL and customs release status
- Ensure the safe and timely pickup and delivery of shipments
- Monitor shipments costs and timelines
- Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues
- Work with Logistics Manager to implement and maintain carrier score card
- Work closely with Planning, Product development, Customer Service and Logistics colleagues both inside and outside the company to drive efficiency
- Weekly 3PL site visits
- Other duties as assigned
Logistics Coordinator Skills and Abilities :
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to type 40 words per minute
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent multi-tasking ability
- Excellent attention to detail
- Working knowledge of shipping software and websites (Worldship, etc.)
- Working knowledge of purchasing, distribution, and warehouse flow
- Epicor Vantage system experience is a plus
Logistics Coordinator Education and Experience :
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. Associates degree is preferred.
- 1 years of logistics experience in a similar role is required.
- Warehouse management experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is required.
- Experience working with all modes of transportation (parcel, rail, OTR, LTL, International Ocean / Air) is preferred
- Experience with contract negotiation and account management is preferred
- Experience with TMC, training experience is a plus
