We are seeking a data scientist to join our analytics team to help find data driven insights, monitor the production and risk profile of our book, and automate key metric reporting. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of statistics, mathematics, Microsoft Excel, data science programming languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python), and data visualization software products (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).

Your primary responsibilities will be running custom SQL queries, building automated reports in Power BI for both internal and external use, and the manipulation and repackaging of data for modeling purposes. This role will be based in downtown Charlotte, NC.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Discern relevant information from large datasets and present the information clearly and concisely.
• Use data visualization techniques and tools to create reports for internal and external use.
• Use analytical and technical skills to automate processes.
• Actively monitor metrics including but not limited to territory growth, retention, and profitability goals.
• Provide support to the Data Scientist Manager
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant field
• 1 year of experience with data visualization
• Excellent Excel specific skills
• Experience with SQL or similar database manipulation language
• Knowledge of PowerBI or similar data visualization software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with database management is a plus
• Knowledge of machine learning preferred
