We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance Engineer/Analyst with a current Secret clearance to join our Advana team in Crystal City. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and governing data across large federal agencies using advanced data management tools. This role involves ensuring that data is well cataloged, tagged, tracked, and accessible to authorized personnel in compliance with all relevant data policies. Key Responsibilities: Data Cataloging:
Implement and manage data cataloging solutions to ensure all data assets are documented and easily discoverable.
Maintain comprehensive metadata for all data assets using tools like Collibra. Data Tagging:
Develop and apply data tagging standards to classify data appropriately for easy identification and retrieval.
Utilize automated tagging systems to streamline the data tagging process. Data Lineage:
Track the flow of data across systems and processes to provide clear visibility into data origins, movements, and transformations.
Ensure data lineage is accurately documented and maintained. Data Policy Management:
Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop policies that align with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives. Managing Data Access Approvals:
Oversee the data access approval process to ensure only authorized personnel can access sensitive data.
Utilize tools like Immuta to manage and automate data access controls and permissions. Tool Management and Integration:
Utilize data governance tools such as Databricks, Immuta, and Collibra. Qualifications:
4 years of experience working in a military or government setting
2 years of experience in a data governance, secretariat, or staff officer role
Experience with the preparation and development of senior leadership-level background papers, reports, and presentations
Experience analyzing data strategy and policy
Ability to work as a self-starter and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
