Duties * Performs as lead advisor, mentors, provides training and conducts quality assurance activities for junior Industrial Security Specialists. * Responsible for executing the GVSC Tech Protect Program. * Analyze multiple DoD, DA, AFC and DEVCOM directives, instructions, and regulations, as well as future Security Classification Guides (SCG), to coalesce the tech protect, disclosure, * Operations Security (OPSEC) programs to develop comprehensive protection guidance to the GVSC S and Es. * Develop and implement GVSC Tech Protect process and related guidance. * Work with internal GVSC S and Es/partners on Tech Protect requirements, as well as serve as the GVSC representative on external higher headquarters working groups. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * This position requires a Non-Critical Sensitive Secret security clearance. * This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 10%. * This position requires a three-year probationary period. Qualifications DEVCOM-GVSC is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project. The DE-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12 step 1 to GS-13 step 10 level. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Identifying security program vulnerabilities and associated mitigation actions to stakeholders; 2) Conducting Security Reviews of contracts to ensure compliance with regulations; AND 3) Overseeing complex security violation investigations of government resources with contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DE-02 (GS-11 Equivalent).
