Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) is seeking a versatile, skilled Legislative Affairs Specialist to support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Director's Office. It is of paramount importance to exceed our client expectations with high integrity and focused attention to program deliverables. This support includes the following tasks:
Support the drafting, editing and review of DARPA responses to congressional requests for information, briefings and hearings.
Provide subject matter expertise on science and technology policy development and interacting with congressional staffs to implement policy.
Draft, track, and manage DoD/legislative affairs reporting requirements as they pertain to DARPA and DARPA requirements/responsibilities.
Maintain significant knowledge and awareness of science, technology, and overall defense issues in Congress.
Analyze, anticipate, and proactively react to political and policy developments.
Monitor and track draft legislation; prepare summaries for Agency leadership. Qualification Requirements: Education BS/BA in a relevant field Clearance Eligible for Active DoD Secret Clearance Experience:
3 years' experience congressional committee staff or related legislative affairs experience.
Experience with legislative process and procedure, particularly authorization and appropriation process. Desired skills:
Prior DARPA experience preferred.
