Duties As a SECURITY ASSISTANCE ANALYST at the GS-0301-12 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: * Develop, review, calculate, and process nonrecurring cost charges, waivers, and special nonrecurring cost requests. * Provide written responses to related Inspector General evaluations/audits, and public inquiries regarding non-recurring (NC) charges, NC waivers and leases. * Reviews and analyzes security assistance requests and works closely with DoD stakeholders to develop recommendations for Senior Leadership. * Draft, assemble and coordinate Department of Defense memorandums and related background data to facilitate Security Assistance decisions. * Responds to internal and external customers on topics such as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), policy, waivers and leases, etc. * Maintain and update a detailed tracker that records security assistance program data, ensuring all entries have the appropriate and most recent information to provide a comprehensive up to date status. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a U.S. citizen * Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service * Resume and supporting documents (See How To Apply) * Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation * May be required to successfully complete a probationary period * Work Schedule: Full Time * Overtime: Occasionally * Tour of Duty: Flexible * Recruitment Incentives: May be Authorized * Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt * Financial Disclosure: Required * Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible * Employee must obtain/maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive (Secret) security clearance Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: * Evaluates security assistance relating to laws, legislation, policies, practices and operations * Developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations to reduce cost charges * Studies, analyzes, and develops methods to improve the accuracy, adequacy, and timeliness of information and systems * Reviews and prepares oral and written correspondence in response to inquiries for information Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional information This position is not part of a bargaining unit, BUS Code 8888. Incumbent must attain DoD Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) Certification and complete related continuous learning requirements in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2017, Title 10 United States Code, Section 384 and Security Cooperation Workforce Certification Program 2.0 requirements. Incumbent must complete DoD SCW Basic-level certification courses within one year. Requirements for Proficiency Level 1 - At least 1 year of successful SC work experience with a performance appraisal rating of 3 or better. Incumbent must complete DoD SCW Foundational level certification requirements within one year of entering the SC position. In addition, 40 hours of continuing education (CUE) every two years.
