Boeing Information Technology (IT) Network Infrastructure Services is currently looking for a Senior Network Designer - Special Programs to join their team in Seal Beach, CA; El Segundo, CA; or Huntington Beach, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) business organization . A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with IT Business Partners and BDS stakeholders to implement and maintain communications and network systems enabling the BDS business to meet their organizational and program goals. Position Responsibilities: * Duties include:
Network Design
Equipment procurement
Equipment configuration and installation
Cable and wire design and implementation
Network break-fix
Security plan integration
Equipment decommissions and surplus
Acts as a working lead to plan and assess program requirements and integrate activities of other employees to accomplish program objectives
Manages the scope of work for program activities and interaction with connected sites and other programs
Identifies resources needed for successful accomplishment
Performs hardware and software support to Secure Network, Secure Voice, and other non-standard system integration
Supports the security activities such as US government Risk Management Framework (RMF) Compliance, Security Evaluation Checklists, device sanitization, contamination cleanup, and support to the management of System Security Plans
Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers
Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team
Develops and executes project and process plans and implements policies and procedures
Some travel to remote sites possible (approx. 10%) This position requires an active U.S. Top Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) This position requires a successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program such that periodic updates are no longer required. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): * 5 years of experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and IOS implementation
5 years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and (Wide Area Networks) WAN Networks
5 years of experience with TCP/IP Network Protocols Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Bachelor's degree or higher
Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems, network monitoring systems, and AAA/RADIUS/TACACS
Experience with Encryptors
Experience with DNS/DHCP/IPAM
Experience as a team leader
Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 certification (Security preferred)
CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.). Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
