Where You Will Work:
Clearwater Paper's Las Vegas facility produces through-air-dried (TAD) ultra-premium bathroom tissue, household paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins for major retail outlets throughout the United States. Boasting over 200 talented employees, the Las Vegas location sits on 23 acres and uses state-of-the-art technology, automation, and a variety of equipment such as laser-guided vehicles. Located within the Mojave Desert, North Las Vegas sits just northeast of Las Vegas as the 4th largest city in the state of Nevada. The city offers an extensive park and recreation program including 34 parks that cover more than 475 acres of developed parkland. Recently completed Southern Nevada's Neon to Nature regional trail system includes 10 miles used for hiking, biking, and leisurely strolls. What You W ill Do:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all mechanical functions of machines and equipment across the paper facility including preventive and non-preventive maintenance, specifically for the Converting area. This includes preventative and non-preventative maintenance.

• Complete regular preventive maintenance functions, observations, and inspections on production equipment. Take temperatures on bearings, examine for worn parts, clean and lubricate equipment
• Maintain mechanical portions of converting equipment in acceptable working order, operate and inspect to diagnose defects.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts/equipment as needed. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers specifications
• Respond to work orders including changing log saw blades, baler wire, gear boxes, and rolls
• Use diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
• Operate machines such as milling machine, lathes, and saws to modify or fabricate components as needed
• Weld or solder broken parts using electric or gas welders and soldering tools
• Assist operations as needed, with changeovers and equipment operations
• Train operators in performing minor maintenance tasks
• Participates in all team activities and communicates to all other team members to ensure the success of the maintenance department.
• Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE)
• Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
• Ensure work environment is clean and free from debris

What You Will Need:
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required, 2-year Degree preferred
• Nevada state journeyman's license and proven abilities preferred
• Minimum 3 years demonstrated mechanical experience or 2 years of related education in lieu of experience
• Experienced in working with computerized maintenance system preferred
• Experience with troubleshooting and performing maintenance on packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confine spaces, personal protective equipment, etc.) preferred
• Welding and machining preferred
• Forklift/Clamp truck certified preferred
• Able to read and interpret technical operations and maintenance manuals, procedures, schematics, and blueprints
• Able to use a variety of measuring instruments preferred
• Understanding of fluid transfer preferred § Ability to work on a variety of machines (Perini & ChinLee rewinders, UNO wrappers, Infinity wrappers, folded machines, etc.) preferred
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
• Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (Eye and ear protection, steel-toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, and over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Technician will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
• The work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid
• Must be capable of working a rotating 12-hour schedule each month, alternating between day and night shifts. Throughout this time be available weekends, and Holidays & able to work overtime as needed.
