Essential Job Functions:
- Assists patients in dressing or undressing as well as lifting and positioning patients for procedures. Applies orthopedic dressing and splints as instructed or requested.
- Assists with transporting patients as needed.
- Completes mandatory training requirements.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.
- Work with Doctors and nurses and provide technical support of patient care.
- Clean and stock rooms and carts with appropriate medical supplies and equipment. Change linen as necessary.
- Help with resuscitation/CPR and emergency airway procedures.
- Obtain and document patient’s vital signs, as well as assist with placement of oxygen saturation, blood pressure and cardiac monitoring.
- Measuring and fitting canes and crutches and teaching patients how to use them.
- Making sure the correct documentation is accurate and complete.
- Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.
Job Requirement
- Current Basic Emergency Medical Technician certification from an approved institution or training program, or current Certified Nurse Aide certification
- Familiar with medical terminology and able to spell medical terms correctly
- BLS Required
Full time, night shift, 7PM-7AM, 36 hours per week
