Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Senior IT Applications Engineer at our Burns Harbor, Indiana location. The Applications Engineer will provide base IT support for the Burns Harbor Plant Operations. The Applications Engineer will support shipping applications, internal websites, message queuing, custom client server applications developed in .NET, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, end user applications etc., to support the Plant Applications area. The Applications Engineer needs to be proficient in the technology to complete the programming, work quickly and cost effectively. They will need to create functional & technical specifications, program, test, implement, and maintain applications. They must adhere to Cleveland-Cliffs programming and process standards.
Summary Of Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the business, other team members, or vendors participating in meetings to analyze and develop project requirements and technical support tasks.
• Works proactively to take requirements and modify or develop applications while identifying all critical interfaces and address any impact in user testing and implementation
• Plans, organizes, and implements technical projects and solutions following the Change Management process. Create required documentation /evidence for enhancements or new applications systems with expertise and experience in the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
• Ensures timely and effective feedback for customer issues and requests while providing recommendations for enhancements or changes to correct or minimize support issues
• Provides 24 X 7 on-call support for existing Burns Harbor applications
• Support and development of online and batch applications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems or equivalent work experience
• 5 or more years of experience in IIS, ASP .NET, VB .Net, MVC, Java script/jQuery, LINQ, ADO.NET ,SQL, SSRS, SSIS, C, C , C#, TFS, GIT, Perl scripts, WPF, entity framework and XAML
• 5 or more years of experience in Oracle and SQL databases, SQL language and SQL Management Studio
• 5 or more years of experience in Visual Studio and related tools.
• 5 or more years utilizing the SDLC process in software development or Agile Methodology
• 5 or more years of experience in a Steel manufacturing environment
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and coordinate activities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a group environment and independently

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience developing Web & Windows Applications using Microsoft Technologies stack
• 3 years of experience in Project Management; and demonstrated good leadership, communication, organizational and teamwork skills
• 1 years experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse
• 1 years experience with Jira Issue and Project Tracking
