We are looking for an enthusiastic Gift Shop Clerk to join our dynamic team in maintaining outstanding customer service while assisting with the receiving, stocking, display, and sales of gift shop merchandise. The Gift Shop is a fun place. It provides a break for staff and visitors to unwind.
The ideal caregiver is someone who:

• Can operate cash register to total guests' purchases and accurately balance cash drawer daily.

Responsibilities:
- Greets customers and assists with purchase selections.
- Receives payment by cash, check, credit card and debit card and issues receipts, change, credits or refunds to customers using computerized cash register.
- Assists with the monitoring of inventory and restocking of shelves and displays as needed.
- Assists with receiving, unboxing and pricing of new merchandise.
- Sends invoices to Accounts Payable for payment.
- Prepares monthly and annual financial reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school degree or equivalent required.
Certifications:
- None required.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- One year previous experience in a retail setting.
- One year previous experience maintaining cash/check/charges sales receipts and deposits.
- One year previous experience paying invoices and maintaining financial reports.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office and laboratory equipment
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
