As the Manager of Cancer Health Analytics, you will lead a team to support Taussig Cancer Center’s population health initiatives by gathering, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data to relevant stakeholders. A caregiver in this role will also: 

  • Provide institute leadership with data to assist with insight and strategic opportunities. 

  • Develop and drive clinical improvement and efficiency strategies through analytics. 

  • Lead the tumor registry. 

The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

  • Is a Certified Tumor Registrar. 

  • Has at least three years managing clinical quality improvement programs and clinical informatics as well as six months of lead or supervisory experience.

  • Has experience with tumor registries, national data guidelines, public sources of population health indicators, information technology, data warehouses and reporting platforms.

  • Has a growth mindset. 

  • Is eager and ready to learn. 

This is a remote work opportunity with occasional in-person requirements roughly 1-2 times per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Cancer Tumor Registry and related data collection and analysis; data and report automation; Integration of new and existing data sources from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), financial systems, and more to guide and support the enterprise's strategic agenda; and data analysis and support for Cancer Programming and research initiatives.
  • Manages the Cancer Tumor Registry team and ensures Commission on Cancer (CoC) and Cancer Incidence Surveillance System (OCISS) accreditation and reporting requirements are met.
  • Analyzes health information and data to provide insights and strategic opportunities to CCHS leadership. Develops best practices and standards for managing data collection and reporting processes. Works to provide strategic vision, leadership, and innovation with the design, development, and management of informatics, analytics, and information technology to advance Cleveland Clinic's Cancer Service line throughout the CCHS.
  • Creates visualizations of data appropriate to engage relevant audiences and stakeholders and facilitate decision-making.
  • Oversee data collection, assessment, and analysis of data for patient population health initiatives.
  • Facilitates and coordinates research for healthcare populations through grant and proposal writing and scientific abstract/paper publications.
  • Maintains knowledge in the operation and management of tumor registries and national data guidelines (NAACR, FORDS, SEER, NCDB, NCCN, NCI).
  • Leads all Human Resource responsibilities and promotes continuous development of team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, healthcare administration, Epidemiology or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Certifications:

  • Certified Tumor Registry (CTR) preferred.

Competencies (Complexity of Work):

  • In depth knowledge in the operation and management of tumor registries and national data guidelines (NAACR, FORDS, SEER, NCDB, NCCN, NCI).
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, administration and other key partners.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with social media platforms, e-newsletters, and other tools and resources.
  • Project management experience leading multiple large scale projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • Comfortable and well versed with public speaking and presentations.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum three years’ experience with managing clinical quality improvement programs and clinical informatics. At least six months of lead or supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with tumor registries, national data guidelines and public sources of population health indicators. 
  • Experience with information technology, data warehouses and reporting platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include a moderate degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer.
  • This position requires normal or corrected vision and hearing and the ability to verbally communicate.
  • Physical demands include office work and the mobility sufficient to attend meetings throughout the Clinic.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.46

Maximum hourly: $51.03

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
