Responsibilities:Provides advanced reference assistance to assist patrons' choice and use of resources appropriate to their needs.Researches complicated inquiries and provides appropriate responses, including customized bibliographies and information packets.Utilizes familiarity with the content, organization, selection, and appropriate application of resources including databases such as MEDLINE (and the MeSH vocabulary), Web of Science, OhioLINK databases, and the Internet.Guides users to appropriate sources of information and manages the delivery of requested materials.Designs and develops programs to teach effective, efficient use of library resources, research skills, and library services, including preparation and delivery of formal and informal presentations to groups or individuals.Provides advanced professional library services in one or more of the following areas: identification, location, retrieval, and delivery of relevant information sources such as the selection, development, organization, and management of library collections.Orients, educates, and trains library users in effective use of appropriate library resources and services.Publicizes and manages the organization of library resources, services, and programs.Maintains accurate records of the library's materials and resources, and presenting this information through appropriate interfaces.Maintains quality and integrity of CCF holdings information in one or more of the following: library's catalog (using the Innovative Interfaces integrated library automation system); electronic journal management software (such as Serials Solution and ArticleLinker); regional and national holdings lists (e.g. OhioLINK, OCLC, Serhold).Upholds the quality and comprehensiveness of Author Database, using bibliographic management software such as Reference Manager and Reworks, portals for electronic resources, library's web site for the presentation of all of these resources.Manages library resources and the physical management of the collections, including appropriate space planning.Selects library resources appropriate for the support of the CCF mission.Selects subject expertise and familiarity with programs and usage patterns in monitoring professional literature and offerings of publishers and vendors, soliciting user suggestions and evaluations, and evaluating content and audience, in order to build appropriate library collections, which includes de-selecting (weeding) materials no longer appropriate for our collection.Performs collection analyses and formulates collection development policies.Recommends budget support levels for various aspects of the library collection, and monitors expenditures to remain within budget.Circulates materials from our collection by using the Innovative Interfaces integrated library automation system by maintaining accurate patron records, recommending circulation policies, protecting confidentiality, and pursuing overdue materials.Provides copies of materials (especially copies of journal articles), from print or electronic sources, requested and delivered in a variety of ways, such as investigation, recommendation, implementation, and management of appropriate electronic request/delivery mechanisms such as ILLiad.Obtains requested materials through inter-library loan from a wide variety of local, regional, or national sources which Includes use of mechanisms such as Docline, OCLC, and OhioLINK's Pcirc, approving invoices for these transactions, and assuring copyright compliance.Provides materials requested from collections by other libraries (Docline, OCLC, OhioLINK Pcirc), including record-keeping and billing for these transactions.Provides input of other librarians or non-exempt workers for their performance evaluations.Shares responsibility for carrying the 'librarian on call' pager, and negotiating requests for emergency service or after-hours library access.Other duties as assigned.Education:Masters degree in Library/Information Science.Certifications:Credentialing by the Medical Library Association's (MLA) Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) is preferred, or working toward AHIP.Any of the following AHIP levels preferred: Provisional, Member Level, Senior Member Level, Distinguished Member Level or Emeritus Member Level. Complexity of Work:Work Experience: 4 years professional experience (post-MSLS) to include 2 years in medical/life sciences-related activities (reference/instruction, collection development, cataloging, e-resources).Preferred Qualifications: Preferred experience with medical library document delivery programs such as Docline and ILLiad.Physical Requirements: Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information Ability to lift library materials up to 15 pounds Ability to move library materials on a cart weighing up to 75 pounds. As a Medical Librarian II, you will play a vital role in supporting caregiver's research and clinical practice. This position provides advanced professional library services in identification, location, retrieval and delivery of relevant information sources such as the selection, development, organization and management of library collections, including in print, non-print or electronic formats. You will also orient, educate and train library users in effective use of appropriate library resources and services. This position is primarily based at Main Campus and will require you to work two 8:30AM - 4:30PM Saturday shifts in a twelve-week period. After your onboarding and training period, you will have the opportunity to work one day remotely each week. The ideal future caregiver is someone who: Holds a master's degree in library/Information Science. Has experience in document delivery and interlibrary loans. Has excellent customer service skills. This position does require working on some Saturdays. 2 Saturdays roughly within a 12 week period, they get a day off during the week when they work on Saturday.library we have longer than average 'office hours.' Library open hours are 7:30-6:30 M-F and Sat 8:30-4:30. They won't be scheduled for the entire 11 hours we are open during a day. We have a schedule that published monthly and they may be scheduled to open the library at 7:30 am on some days, other days may be scheduled to close the library at 6:30pm, and other times in between those times on some days. They would work their 8 hours according to their schedule for that day.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $25.13Maximum hourly: $38.33The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary.
